Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the FairNow platform, ensuring its functionality, performance, security and responsiveness.

• Help design and implement the FairNow integration platform, and build scalable, secure and resilient integrations to third party ML. system.

• Conduct Competitive Analysis: continually review the market and key trends in the competitive landscape; clearly articulate FairNow’s valprop relative to market.

• Collaborate on MLE tasks, including building our AI evaluation suite and AI agents to assess fairness, explainability, and effectiveness of ML models.

• Contribute to the development and optimization of pipelines for data preprocessing and modeling, model training, deployment, and monitoring.

• Work closely with the CTO and key stakeholders to define the platform’s architecture, technology stack, and development roadmap.

• Take full ownership of the implementation of components of the platform, adhering to best practices and DX principles.

• Implement and optimize platform features, constantly seeking innovative solutions to enhance performance and user experience.

• Utilize cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to deploy and scale the platform efficiently and securely.

• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between front-end and back-end systems.

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers as the team expands.

• Stay up-to-date with AI/ML and software development trends, applying cutting-edge practices to enhance platform and AI/ML capabilities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

• Work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to project timelines and delivering high-quality code.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Platform Developer, with expertise in Python and familiarity with machine learning workows.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or working within collaborative software development teams.
• Extensive knowledge of Python/Java/Node.js, serverless event driven architectures, API’s, and related back-end technologies.
• Experience building on several of the following: Relational Databases, NoSQL databases, Graph Databases, Vector Databases, Spark.
• Previous experience in developing and deploying platforms and ML systems in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, working independently, and driving results.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
• Experience with version control systems like Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with server-side technologies and frameworks (e.g., FastAPI).

• Familiarity with NoSQL, Graph and Vector databases, plus data modeling.

• Previous experience working on SaaS applications or similar web-based platforms.

• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization mechanisms.

• Understanding of DX principles, API design, and the unique challenges of ML-driven systems.
